Apple cider vinegar helps.

You can find further information in a web search for “apple cider vinegar” + “acid reflux”.

If it were me the first thing I would do is simply use some drugstore antacid (Mylanta, etc.) first to get it under control quickly then switch to a ‘natural’ regime.

I have had severe reflux in the past (I was on Protonix for months) then I discovered by sheer accident that 1 gram (1000mg) of choline daily stopped my acid reflux cold.
I don’t know ‘why’ but it works for me.

Life Extension Foundation Recommendations
In addition to lifestyle changes, people with GERD should consider the following supplements to help relieve symptoms and reduce the risk of esophageal cancer:

Life Extension Mix (a multinutrient supplement mix rich in antioxidants)
Vitamin B12—250 micrograms (mcg) daily (particularly needed with long-term acid-reduction therapy such as with H2 drugs or proton pump inhibitors)
Licorice extract—1520 milligrams (mg) daily
Selenium—200 mcg daily
Phytofood—1 tablespoon daily, which provides 9 mg sulforaphane to reduce DNA damage
Green tea extract—1 capsule daily, which provides at least 725 mg of a 93 percent polyphenol extract
Digest RC—a multiple herbal extract formulation used in Europe for more than 45 years, now available in the United States. The supplement mix works by promoting the release of bile from the liver to digest fats and proteins, in addition to other mechanisms. Although not all of Digest RC’s individual components have been studied in the context of GERD, Life Extension’s recommendation is based on Digest RC’s ability to promote healthy digestion and stomach emptying. This will reduce the pressure in the stomach, which may make it less likely to cause episodes of GERD. Digest RC contains
Black radish extract: 75 mg
Linden bark charcoal: 75 mg
Artichoke extract: 47 mg
Calcium phosphate: 45 mg
Cholic acid: 40 mg
Peppermint: 15 mg
Digestive enzymes: follow label directions

Full protocol link is below.

Good Luck!!!

Go to a health food store (Akins,Wild Oats, ect.) and ask about the acid reflux. The folks there can help you find what you need.
Sounds like you have food allergies (wheat, corn, milk, egg, soy, nuts, ect.), and may need stomach enzymes.
Another remedy is green tea, unsweetened.
All the best to you.

Drink a glass of cool milk whenever you have an incidence of Acidity. The symptoms are resolved immediately and complete cure is effected in a week. You can see some other remedies as well. And yes don’t forget to mention your comments.

I’d like to know that too. Someone said Apple cider vinegar works, Yeah but its hell on an ulcer and it doesn’t last very long.

Go get yourself some organic apple cider vinegar from the health food store (Braggs is a good brand) and mix 2 tablespoons full of ACV into a glass of warm water and, using a straw to protect your pearlie white teeth, drink up !! You do need to get organic as it still has the “Mother” in it which is the active ingredient. The commercial brands have had way too much goodness taken out of them and are really only good for cleaning the floors♥

The apple cider vinegar will realkalise an acid tummy and stop the heartburn ~ acid reflux that you are experiencing.

If that doesn’t work try eating a couple of green apples to realkalise your tummy ……….. they are rich in magnesium and are also an alkaline food, magnesium will increase the production of hydrochloric acid in your tummy and this will aid in digestion ……………… eat more fresh fruit and vegies, wholegrains and cereals, cold water fishes such as tuna, sardines and salmon and whiting, ground up nuts and seeds as all these foods are rich in magnesium and will promote a healthy nervous system and of course heart health….. magnesium is also known as the antistress mineral.

Acid reflux ~ heartburn is generally a symptom of lactose intolerance …… is this a possibility??

Good health to you & yours buddy♥

Personally, I would avoid all medication because these pills can lead to side-effects and other potentially damaging health issues.

However, that’s just me, you must make you own decisions based on your health.

Firstly, avoid things that are known to cause reflux. You should hopefully know what triggers you, but if not, start to keep a food diary.

Well known causes include: deep fried foods, fried foods, alcohol, chocolate, chilli, fatty meats, full fat dairy, oranges, raw onions, garlic, coffee, fizzy sodas and over-eating large portions of food, etc…

Try changing your diet for six weeks and see if there is an improvement.

Try juicing & drinking organic celery – it is very good for reducing acidity and reflux (this particular information was taken from “The Juice Fasting Bible” by Dr Sandra Cabot)

If food consumption is not the issue, you will need to see your doctor, as reflux can often be a sign of a more serious underlying disease (i.e.) IBS or Crohns

If it is food related, it is totally pointless to take medication so you can keep eating the damaging food. You will need to make big lifestyle changes, rather than relying on popping artificial pills.

I have a case of bad acid attack myself, and during this times of attacke i take a glass of milk and a raw eggyolk great combination to netralize the acid. Its best if you can take a warm sterilize milk along with the eggyolk and eat lots of banana.

Research the available products on an unbiased site like http://www.nutritionaltree.com. Just go to the acid reflux category.
